Rigorous thinking is to think in a disciplined, considered manner as opposed to haphazardly and involves a more deliberate action of working through each step of the problem solving process. It begins by understanding the issue or challenge and asking the right question(s) for diagnosis as masking the symptom does not cure the underlying disease, gathering of thoughts, assembling the relevant facts, identifying key assumptions, acquiring more information, asking for input and involving the right people for help. Rigorous thinking requires courage to question your own logic, think out of the box, applying diversity in thinking; challenging all answers to complex questions and delaying judgment until reasonable amount of facts are collected and it can lead to amazing breakthroughs. Through this workshop participants will move out of the mundane, be more curious, engage, and explore new ideas, recognize creativity in others and remove barriers that block or limit creativity or Rigorous Thinking.
